Just as you’re about to get married to the wrong guy, prince charming storms into the church, saves the day, and professes his love to you.
When you hit 18, you move into an apartment with some fun friends and have the time of your life.
As soon as you start making some money, you finally travel around the world. Trip to Egypt. Trip to New York. Eurotrip with friends.
You’re 27. You’ve worked so hard to get to where you are. You have a great boss and a great position and your office overlooks the entire city. You’ve made it.
You know how much easier our lives would have been if we had never watched movies?
We’ve been brainwashed since we were kids that all of these can happen. And hey, for some of you out there…it does. And I couldn’t be happier for you (NOT). But the reality is… these things are made up.
Imagine if we didn’t have these enormous expectations for ourselves and for what our lives had to be. Then we’d be sort of content with what we’ve accomplished in our lives so far. But when we’re constantly reminded by Hollywood movies about just how far our lives are from the “reality” these characters have, will we ever think our lives are good enough?
Enough of my rant.
Time to watch Titanic for the 127th time.
