In 2002, Christina Aguilera released “Beautiful”: truly an anthem for my generation.
The video shows a gay couple kissing while people watch in shock, a transvestite getting dressed & putting make up on, a girl getting bullied to death, & other people who are “different”.
Whether you’re gay or straight, dark skinned or light skinned, skinny or voluptuous, Lebanese or American, you can relate to this song equally.
Yes, you’re different.
Don’t be ashamed of it.
Own it.
“You’re beautiful no matter what they say. Words can’t bring you down.”
No wonder was Christina honored by GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) for her positive images of LGBT people in Beautiful. (source)
Go Xtina!
This truly was one of her best. She sent such a positive message of “acceptance” to us all. I loved it. Hope to see more things like this coming from her. Thanks for bringing it up!
Glad u like it.
I still watch it to this day and get goosebumps.
I remember when this came out and everyone at school was talking about the video clip “TWO GUYS ARE KISSING!” :O tehehe I love this song 🙂

I used to really love that song. I forgot about it until you mentioned it. It is truly one of her best.
