Parking Space & Maching Guns: Just another night in Beirut City.

Fucked-up-ness in Beirut

Another night of fucked up people doing fucked up things in our fabulous city of Beirut yesterday.

Apparently, the “personal dispute” that caused the firing of rockets and RPGs was a dispute over a parking space.

I get it.

Parking space is a very big deal in Lebanon.

If only I got a penny every time I took someone’s eye out when they stole my parking space…

But seriously now. A parking space caused all this?

It’s one of those situations where, yes, people died, but it’s so funny. It’s so funny you can’t stop laughing. People dying over nothing. Hilarious!

A word of advice to tourists visiting Lebanon. Don’t be involved in disputes cause of parking spaces, it will get you killed and drag the whole country into a new civil war.

It’s not that it’s funny – but more along the lines of pathetic.

Aren’t most of these skirmishes usually over parking space? I’m beginning to doubt the whole song and dance routine.

    Pathetic, is the word.

Last day the country was close to get doomed for a tree.

Yesterday it’s civil war which almost came back for a parking spot.

    Yeah .. pathetic ..

They are so full of arogance about their so precious country, but in the main time they never miss a chance to ruin it a little bit more.

    Pathetic.

    What a waste.

Such a wonderful country, so much beauty in it, so much potential …

You see, it’s things like these that break my heart and make me think that Lebanon is irrecuperable… truly pathetic, lamentable, and very very sad.

I have to agree with everyone on this one. Who cares about the Israelis when the Lebanese are killing each other, and innocent civilians over a parking space? Yesterday a girl at work showed me pictures of her sisters car..it had been stoned during the protests over the recent power cuts. Lebanese destroying other Lebanese lives over thing they can’t control..Will things ever get better?
